Perfectionism, Stress and Hormone Balance

Nov 15, 2011

Perfectionism is common in people with hormonal imbalances, infertility and those who have stress related health issues. That is because the type of personality can lead to anxiety and inability to cope with stress. When one is set off from regular routine stress arises.  Stress can directly affect hormone balance and fertility, as well as overall health.  Perfectionists aspire to be top achievers and do not allow themselves to make even a single mistake. They are always on the alert for imperfections and weaknesses in themselves and others. They tend to be rigid thinkers who are on the lookout for deviations from the rules or the norm. Perfectionism is not the same as striving for excellence.

You do not need to be perfect to be happy. People who pursue excellence in a healthy way take genuine pleasure in working to meet high standards. Perfectionists are motivated by self-doubt and fears of disapproval, ridicule, and rejection. The high producer has drive, while the perfectionist is driven. It is important to keep a positive mind frame, control negative thoughts and live a conscious life. Stress is the way thoughts are perceived, or simply thoughts about something that has happened in the past, or is about to happen. Learn to control negative thoughts and thinking patterns and you will be able to manage stress properly.  You can be a high achiever without being a perfectionist.

People who accomplish plenty and stay emotionally healthy tend to exhibit the following behaviors:

Set standards that are high but achievable.

Enjoy the process, not just the outcome.

Recover from disappointment quickly.

Are not disabled by anxiety and fear of failure.

View mistakes as opportunities for growth and learning.

React positively to constructive feedback.

With stress, ones health becomes vulnerable, and with sickness, stress increases.  It is a vicious cycle. Most natural treatments take 3-6 months to be completely effective. Do not stress. Feel your body healing and believe that you are indeed getting well, as the mind is very powerful.

Meditation

Make use of yoga, meditation, relaxation and visualization techniques, envisioning your cysts or fibroids shrinking and disappearing every day, thus increasing your fertility, improving your hormone balance and overall health and well-being. Get the blood flowing in the area, and receive regular massages. Lie down and use a castor oil pack at least three times per week over the pelvic region. Castor oil is known to travel as deep as two inches through the skin to heal.

Make sure to get daily exercise that you enjoy, as a way to relieve stress and increase blood flow to help healing. Listen to soft music and breath. Your body is healing successfully and permanently.

See it, believe it and live it. Love, happiness and health.
