Weaning my Youngest
Jan 15, 2020
Today is a very emotional but special day.
After 6 years of nursing combined between both children, I am weaning my youngest.
It’s been such an incredible few years of bonding and connecting, but the time has come for mama to spread her wings.
What a blessing breast milk has been, from illnesses to bobos to refilling their emotional cups.
"Milkiki", as Sadiel calls it. We’ve shared it in the jungle, in the car, in the ocean, in the snow and even in the midst of a category 5 hurricane!
The growth, the nutrition, the comfort - so incredibly grateful for this liquid gold. The female body is amazing. And so is the baby.
Now the time has come. Mama is going to be away, for the first time. This time apart will help us grow and become stronger.
An important right of passage into toddlerhood. This very special milestone will be celebrated with a sacred "milkiki ceremony".
